The GRM drive - the general information, service of components

Camshafts can be turned without risk of collision of valves with pistons in case the bent shaft is given to situation 45 ° before VMT of the piston of the first cylinder.

The gas-distributing chain can be replaced without dismantling of the engine. By means of the listed below tools the new chain can be connected to old, is passed around asterisks and fullered (see the Section Replacement of a Chain of the GRM Drive)

At the wrong assembly there can be a collision of valves with the bottoms of pistons!

General information

Performing procedures of removal and installation of elements of the GRM drive will require the following special tools:
  • Pin of blocking of the camshaft h4 - No. 111589031500;
  • Camshaft key - No. 119589000100;
  • Stripper of a nave/pulley of a bent shaft - No. 103589003300;
  • The tool for blocking of a flywheel / a driving disk - No. 116589014000;
  • The tool for installation of links of a gas-distributing chain - No. 000589584300;
  • A set of shtampoderzhatel for installation of links of a gas-distributing chain - No. 103589016300;
  • Attenuators of a gas-distributing chain - No. 110589035900;
  • The tool for blocking of a pulley - No. 603589004000.
  • Pay attention to the next moments:
  • If the return is not stipulated especially, turn the engine only in the normal direction;
  • Observe the efforts of tightening of fixture stipulated by standards;
  • At the corresponding complete set do not forget to mark adjusting position of the CKP sensor before removal;
  • Do not turn a bent shaft for asterisks of camshafts, and also other asterisks of the GRM drive;
  • Do not turn cranked and camshafts at the removed gas-distributing chain.

    Details of installation of elements of the GRM drive

    1 — Adjusting tags for reduction of the engine in the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression of the first cylinder
    2 — Cores with a diameter of 6.5 mm for fixing of camshafts
    3 — during installation of a chain track that ledges of the regulator of the camshaft (3) were in situation "delays".
    4 — Blocking of the camshaft from a provorachivaniye can be made by means of a key.
    5 — Removal of assembly of a natyazhitel of a chain


     PERFORMANCE ORDER

    1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
    2. For the purpose of simplification of a provorachivaniye of the engine turn out all spark plugs.
    3. Bring a bent shaft into situation 45 ° before VMT of the piston of the first cylinder.
    4. Pass lock cores (2) with a diameter of 6.5 mm throughout camshafts.
    5. During installation of a chain track that ledges of the regulator of the inlet camshaft (3) were in situation "delays".

    At the wrong assembly there can be a collision of valves with the bottoms of pistons!


    Before starting implementation of repair procedures remove assembly of a natyazhitel, - do not incline assembly in the course of removal.

    The final camshaft of the right head of cylinders has to be blocked by a lock core before removal of a natyazhitel.


     PERFORMANCE ORDER

    1. Blocking of the camshaft from a provorachivaniye can be made by means of a key (4).
    2. Having executed necessary recovery repair, establish a natyazhitel into place.
    3. Tighten NEW bolts of the regulator inlet and asterisks final camshafts with effort of 18 Nanometers (a bolt of type A with a separate washer) or 20 Nanometers + 60 ° (a bolt of type B with the built-in washer).

    During performance of repair work the bolt of type A should be replaced with a disposable bolt of type B.

    4. On the engine 119.97 replace a regulator spring if its sizes do not correspond requirements of Specifications.
    5. Tighten the NEW bolt of the regulator of the inlet camshaft with effort of 7 Nanometers (a bolt of type A with a separate washer) or 5 Nanometers + 90 ° (a bolt of type B with the built-in washer).


    During performance of repair work the bolt of type A should be replaced with a disposable bolt of type B.


    On release models to 07/94 do not forget to grease the central bolt of a pulley of a bent shaft and its washer(s) before installation.
