Coupling General information Coupling is intended (generally) for a short-term detachment of a shaft of the engine from transmission, and also the subsequent their smooth connection necessary at start-off of the car from the place and at gear shifting during the movement.Coupling consists of the leading part which details are connected to a bent shaft of the engine, and conducted which details are connected with transmission, and also the elements which are carrying out inclusion and switching off of coupling. The conducted part is disconnected from the leader at the coupling switching off which is carried out by means of the coupling switching off drive. On the Mercedes S-class cars (W140) establish dry one-disk coupling with the central diaphragm spring. The leading elements of coupling are a flywheel, press the disk and the basket of coupling attached by bolts to a flywheel. The conducted element is a clutch plate with frictional slips and the shlitsevy plug thanks to which the disk has an opportunity freely to slide along shliyets of the leading shaft of the transmission and to rotate it. The conducted and leading elements are kept in contact by effort of a diaphragm spring. This effort is created in assembly of a press disk and a basket of coupling. |
